Portal Pelindo
System Overview & Objective
Portal Pelindo is a digital information gateway (single source of truth) built to facilitate the historic integration of four state-owned port enterprises (Pelindo I, II, III, and IV) into a single giant entity. The primary objective of this system is not merely to display static information, but to consolidate the content architecture from four legacy companies into one centralized platform. It was engineered to handle massive traffic spikes from the public, media, and stakeholders exactly on the legal inauguration day of the merger (October 1, 2021).
Core Logic & Architecture
Unified Content Taxonomy & Schema: The core logic focuses on designing a hierarchical database schema capable of mapping the organizational structure, port services, and assets from four previously separate operational regions into a single, unified taxonomy. The system ensures data relations remain consistent without redundancy.
Read-Heavy Optimization & Caching Strategy: As a national-scale public portal, the system is exceptionally read-heavy. The architecture focuses on content delivery efficiency through the implementation of an aggressive caching layer and a Content Delivery Network (CDN). Database queries are heavily minimized for static pages to ensure server response times remain well below tolerance limits, even during sudden and massive request spikes.
Modular CMS Architecture: Backend access is designed around strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Because the portal is managed by corporate communication teams from various regional branches, the Content Management System (CMS) architecture is strictly modular. This ensures that the input of operational data, press releases, and financial reports is securely isolated without risking the structural integrity of the main interface.
